Landscape Development Plan Schouwen-Duiveland

The municipality of Schouwen-Duiveland has commissioned Brons + partners landscape architects to draw a Landscape Development Plan. Aim is to give attention to the landscape values of this unique island in the Dutch delta. The municipality wants to look carefully to several developments and themes which can be found in the countryside. These developments lead to a vision for the future developments of the landscape of Schouwen-Duiveland. The vision shows what is important for the future of the landscape. Formulating specific projects, the municipality can work with you in a active way of developing a landscape.

Some of these topics are, amongst others:
1. road and dike plantings
2. establishment of farmsteads
3. relationship with and perception of the water, inner and outer parts of the dike
4. integration of recreational areas and accessibility of the countryside
5. integration of greenhouses
6. transition between the village and the surrounding countryside
7. connectedness of the landscape with the history of the island
