Opening water retention area Baambrugge

Pieter Kruiswijk, member of the Water board, mowed symbolically the grass. Among the audience there were local inhabitants, volunteers doing maintenance work and other members of the Water board.

Part of the opening was a tour by Landscape Architect Ellen Wilms on the project scene. In 2009 our office was involved to give the outlines to fit in the water retention area into the environment. During the walk the principles of the design, the realization, the water management  and the proposed maintenance were explained and discussed. The people were surprised by some special types of vegetation and special birds.
